Hello Everyone Having spent last weekend at the NAHT Conference in Birmingham, I have been thinking about the increased pressures on both staff and children caused by the higher stakes of accountability, a tougher but narrower curriculum and a new culture of greater testing. It is right that every leader in every school should have high expectations and expect the best for every child, but the frustration lies within the mismatch between what educationalists believe and what the DfE believe is the best for every child. However, I came away with renewed enthusiasm and passion for making sure that our children get the best learning experience they can at Hayfield. Assessment is key to improving teaching and learning and testing is part of this.
